Author Last Post

www.claygurus.com (under construction)

Hello Again All.

Shawn Felts of Clay Gurus Ceramic Supply Shop and Repair Services.

Now that I have Joined VCPG I wanted to post a little about myself and what I am working on that I think will be of interest :)

I will be launching a full website in June, but you are welcome to preview while it is being finalized.

www.claygurus.com This site will also house a very large and expansive online video tutorial service for anything related to ceramics. Basically how to .... everything !

I am closing in on a commercial/industrial brick and mortar space for a full ceramic supply shop here in Ventura selling clay, glazes, kilns, wheels, equipment, tools and all other items. This location, if everything goes according to plan, will also have a small studio for students and members with space to grow larger as needed.

I have been inundated with repair requests for kilns, wheels and other equipment and am happy to get every one of those items back to perfect working order.

Please reach out with any and all questions

Shawn@claygurus.com

Im looking forward to seeing those who are doing the pit-fire this coming weekend as I plan to pop by and check it out. Im excited that I found this ceramic community

Shawn Felts' contact info is in the first post (scroll to the bottom). Replies here won't be seen by him (unless he joins the VCPG and sees it by cruising the forums) - you need to reach out to him privately.

Hi Shawn,

🙂

Welcome to Ventura County, Shawn.  I remember corresponding with you a few times as a customer of Clay Planet. Do you have a web presence for your new dealership?

Excellent!

That’s just what programs wanted!!

Just an FYI for our members, I will be contacting Shawn to see if he would like to participate as a program presenter and speak to us about kiln, maintenance and options for working with clay planet. As a sidenote, play, planet has been one of my go to vendors.

Foz.

Hi Shawn. You may like to join our monthly zoom meeting to say hello and share a bit. We typically have a half hour social time before the actual meeting presentation.

My name is Shawn Felts and I recently moved to Ventura with my family from the bay area.

I would love to talk to the board and members about my services as a kiln and equipment repair technician and also an authorized dealer of Laguna, Clay Planet, Olympic, Cress, Skutt, Paragon, Kemper and other Ceramic brands.

I ran Clay Planet ceramic supply in San Jose for 13 years as general manager and was the primary repair person in the bay area for those same 13 years (thousands of ceramic kilns, wheel, pugmills and other equipment repaired)

I offer quantity discounts on clay and supplies and can split that discount between multiple customers (if a ton of clay is ordered the discount is over 30% off retail and the shipping would be split). It ends up being less expensive for my customers to split order a ton of clay that order 10 bags on their own :)

Looking forward to speaking with someone and getting to know this great local clay community
